Chef and the Farmer Tasting 5/12/12

Yay! The weekly wine tasting is back! Our new wine schedule is from 2 to 5 pm. Just $8 per person.

It’s finally here, our re-opening date is set for this Tuesday May 1st!  Come and check out the beautifully redesigned dining room, our new DoughPro wood burning oven, and of course our NEW MENU!  And, yes, THE WINE SHOP will be opening as well.  Come and join us as we celebrate the great gift of food & drink!

I am very proud to announce that Vivian has been selected as a Semi-finalist for the James Beard Award Best Chef Southeast. The Semi-finalists were announced on February 21st and the finalists will be announced on May 7th.  These awards honor the best of the best in our industry and are often referred to as the Oscars of the food world.

“White Keys and Black Ties: Tyler Griffin and Clay Whittington in Concert”-December 28th 7pm

“White Keys and Black Ties:  Tyler Griffin and Clay Whittington in Concert” @ Chef & the Farmer
Both born and raised in Kinston, NC, Tyler and Clay have performed all over the U.S. They are bringing their show “White Keys and Black Ties” to  the Chef and the Farmer on Dec. 28th @ 7 p.m. Their repertoire will please generations from 8 to 80 with artists such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, George Michaels, Carl Carlton, and many more! Expect to here a little pop, a little country, a little Broadway, and everything in between.
Tyler Griffin recently graduated from ECU with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. He served as musical director for various musicals and cabarets while at ECU. He has also performed in various notable venues such as the Mexico City Opera House and Los Labradores Opera House in San Miguel, Mexico. Tyler has also trained with renowned performers such as Ben Vereen, Michael Rupert, Lauren Kennedy, and Norm Lewis. If you would like more information on Tyler go to www.tyleragriffin.com
Clay Whittington is a respected performer that has performed in various productions across the U.S. Bill Anderson, the executive producer of the nation’s largest outdoor drama, “TEXAS,” said Clay was “one of the most complete performers I have ever had the chance to work with.” Clay has also music directed shows such as   A Christmas Carol, High School Musical, and Willy Wonka. He has starred in productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Clue: The Musical. Clay has also composed the score for Cinderella: A Tale Retold.
